    Hawaii Army National Guard Leadership readies for the upcoming Army Combat Fitness Test

    During the early morning hours Hawaii Army National Guard Leadership gathered in Waimanalo to be familiarized with the new Army Combat Fitness Test. The Army Combat Fitness Test is an upcoming change to how Soldiers fitness is measured.

    The 40 plus leaders from the Officer and Senior Enlisted Corps were briefed in the now 6 exercises that they and their Soldiers will be scored on starting in 2020.

    After a further safety brief and a prescribed ten minute warm up the leaders, in chalks of three per flight took part in each evolution.

    Also notable is the amount of manpower it takes to Administer the Army Combat Fitness test.

    The goal of this change is to better prepare Soldiers for combat tasks, and reduce injuries as the test focuses on functional movements and overall fitness.
