PORTLAND, Oregon – The Oregon Air National Guard’s 142nd Fighter Wing conducted a combat readiness and major accident response exercise September 8-9, 2018.
This exercise tested the wing’s ability to complete its mission while simulating a hostile environment. Airmen conducted their normal training tasks in a simulated chemical warfare environment, while also generating aircraft launches. This allows the wing to enhance mission readiness for wartime assignments. The exercise included night flying on Saturday, September 9.
The major accident response exercise tested the wing’s ability to respond to a simulated aircraft accident.
