Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division from Fort Wainwright Alaska and 4th Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division from Joint Base Lewis-McChord participated in a two-week Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Readiness is the Army’s number one priority, and exercises like Courage Ready 18-02 ensure the Army is ready to deploy, fight and win in defense of the nation. During the two-week long exercise the Soldiers conducted night-time operations, practiced movements at the squad and platoon level, and did live fire exercise to improve their weapons proficiency.
