    180716-O-NO842-1003 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 16, 2018) Prime cuts with the crew of Royal Canadian Navy frigate HMCS Vancouver (FFH 331) preparing to fire a missile during a missile exercise as part of the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise, July 16. Also shown is the Royal Australian Navy frigate HMAS Toowoomba (FFH 156) and U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer USS O'Kane (DDG 177). The prime cuts show Vancouver launching missile up close and O'Kane launching in the distance. Twenty-five nations, 46 ships, five submarines, and about 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world’s largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans.
