On Day 2 of the NATO Ministers of Defense Meetings U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg give opening statements about the counter-ISIS status.
NATO Defense Ministers today (8 June 2018) concluded a two-day meeting in Brussels with a discussion of the Alliance’s training mission in Afghanistan, and its continuing support to the Afghan government and Afghan security forces.
During their two-day meeting Ministers also took decisions to strengthen the Alliance’s deterrence and defense, discussed means of enhancing efforts to project stability and fight terrorism, and explored ways of further boosting cooperation with the European Union. It was the last meeting of NATO Ministers before the Summit in Brussels on 11-12 July.
