Highlights from day three of the shooting competition finals from the Department of Defense Warrior Games 2018, June 5, 2018. The Warrior Games, taking place June 1-9, 2018, at the U.S. Air Force Academy, are a Paralympic-style series of events for wounded, ill and injured service members from all U.S. branches of service and this year include teams from the United Kingdom Armed Forces, Australian Defence Force and Canadian Armed Forces. ***SHOOTING - RIFLE PRONE FINAL***
Notes: The Shooting FINALS began today in the 2018 Warrior Games. A much different format from the Prelims. The first 2 Competition Series were 5 shots within 2:30. From there, shooters got 1 shot in 30 seconds. Format consisted of three groups of eight shooters in each division (Open Division, SH 1 Division, SH 2 Division). Rifle Prone FINALS saw 24 competitors from 5 teams (USAF, ARMY, NAVY, USMC & UK)
Notables: Lane 32: Stephen Rice of the U.K. came into the FINALS with the best score from Prelims (413.9)
Lane 42: Navy's Anna Kerry also shot the Pistol Competition in Prelims and qualified for the FINALS in Rifle Standing Competition (scored 334.3) later today. In addition, on Saturday, she captured 2
Gold Medals in Track (200m & 400m)
Lane 39: Jonathan Weasner won 5 Gold Medals for Team Army Saturday in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m. On Sunday, in the Prone Rifle Shooting Prelim, Weasner scored 398.3
Lane 36: Michael Christansen played both Sitting Volleyball and Wheelchair Basketball for Air Force

The first 2 Competition Series were 5 shots within 4:10. From there, shooters got 1 shot in 50 seconds. Format consisted of two groups of eight shooters in each division (Open Division & SH 1 Division) Pistol FINALS saw 16 competitors from 6 teams (USAF, ARMY, NAVY, USMC, SOCOM, CANADA)
Notables: Lane 23: Bill Lickman won 2 gold medals Saturday in the men's 100m & 200m sprints and competed for the Air Force in shooting competition and scored 315 in pistol shooting Prelims. Lickman will also compete for a Gold Medal in Sitting Volleyball for team Air Force on Friday. Is shooting in the Open Division today
Lane 25: The Marine Corps Phal It (spelled correctly) took the Bronze Medal in the men's 200m. He also scored a 323 in pistol shooting Prelims. Is shooting in the Open Division today
Lane 37: Michael Christiansen is a member of Air Force's Sitting Volleyball team (playing the Gold Medal match on Friday) and their Wheelchair Basketball team (playing in the Gold Medal game versus Army on Saturday). He is shooting in the SH1 Division today

Notes: The third and last competition in the Shooting FINALS of 2018 Warrior Games was RIFLE STANDING Competition. Once again, the format is much different format from the Prelims. The first 2 Competition Series were 5 shots within 4:10. From there, shooters got 1 shot in 50 seconds. The Finals saw 19 competitors from 5 teams (SOCOM, USAF, USMC, NAVY, ARMY). There are 3 classes consisting of 8 shooters in the Open Class, 4 in SH1, and 7 in the SH2.
Notables: Lane 22: Jaime Covas (SOCOM) scored a 340 in the PISTOL Competition on Sunday's Prelims and earlier today Won the Gold in the Open Class firing a 210.4
Lane 42: Joseph Engfer of Navy captured 4 Silver Medals in Saturday's Track & Field events (100m, 200m, 400m, 800m). In the Prone Rifle competition he scored a 382.0 on Sunday's Prelims. Today, Engfer won the Bronze Medal shooting 224.4 in the Prone Event, SH 2 Class
Lane 39: Navy's Anna Kerry competed in the Pistol Competition Prelims, advancing to the Finals. On Saturday, she captured 2 Gold Medals in Track (200m & 400m). Kerry took 6th Place Overall in the Rifle Prone Competition earlier today
Lane 24: Earlier today, Michael Barefoot (USMC) shot a 249.0 in the RIFLE PRONE Competition where he took the GOLD Medal and set a new WARRIOR GAMES RECORD in Open Class
Lane 27: David Mills (NAVY) fired a 225.3 which was good for the BRONZE Medal in RIFLE PRONE, earlier this morning
