On 9 May 18 both military members and first responders were participating in the Vigilant Guard exercise. The exercise began with a HAZMAT situation where a chemical warehouse collapsed due to Hurricane Cora. After the area was deemed clear of CBRN contamination, the Baltimore Fire Department stepped in to locate and clear a path through the rubble to access any victims of the collapse. The 206th Search and Rescue Team followed after the Baltimore Fire Department to extract the victims and move the survivors to safety.
