A naval aviator who earned the Medal of Honor during the Korean Conflict was laid to rest April 4th with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery,
In one way or another, Thomas Hudner, ever the wingman, spent the past six decades trying to save Ens Jesse Brown’s (the first African-American Navy aviator) memory and preserve his legacy.
“The uniform brings together people of all backgrounds, but war brings them even closer,” Hudner said. “Before you know it, a comrade is more than a comrade — he’s family.”
