Captain Gerald Ratchford from the 95th Chemical Company, based out of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) details the process of his team as they perform a scenario in which a fictional countries satellite has crash landed and they are to detect the radiological material as a result of the crash. Arctic Eagle 18 is a statewide exercise involving national, state and local agencies designed to provide opportunities for participants to conduct sustained operations in arctic conditions. The goals of Arctic Eagle 18 are for participating forces to operate in a joint, interagency, and intergovernmental and multinational environment; assess ability to conduct sustained operations in arctic conditions, and integrate new and emerging capabilities.
