Soldiers with C Company, 277th Aviation Support Battalion, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, wrapped up two days of communications exercises that included setting up HCLOS (High Capacity Line Of Sight) radios on February 8 at Fort Drum, New York. These vital instruments allow the brigade to talk to each other on the battlefield without the need for using satellites, a crucial ability in poor weather or when other conditions make it necessary.
Cpl. Michael Dunn, a command post network team chief and multi-channel system operator/maintainer with C Company, 277th Aviation Support Battalion, discusses the importance of using the opportunity to train new Soldiers on these vital systems.
