Approximately 1,000 participants from federal, state and local entities came together for this year's Patriot South exercise, held Feb. 13-15, taking place primarily at Camp Shelby and Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center, Miss. Patriot South is a DOMOPS (Domestic Operations) training exercise sponsored by the National Guard Bureau (NGB) and accredited by the Joint National Training Capability (JNTC) Program. It focuses on increasing the understanding of coordination, policies, and procedures required in conducting a Joint Inter-Agency domestic response. The Exercise tests the National Guard's abilities to support response operations during natural disasters utilizing simulated emergency scenarios. (U.S. Air National Guard Video by Staff Sgt.
