MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - Soldiers with the Western Army Infantry Regiment, Japan Ground Self Defense Force and Marines with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit conducted various training events throughout exercise Iron Fist 2018, in an effort to enhance bilateral interoperability between the United States and Japan. Exercise Iron Fist is an annual bilateral training exercise where U.S. and Japanese service members train together and share technique, tactics and procedures to improve their combined operational capabilities.
