The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Non-Federal Generator Operation and Maintenance Mission was assigned by FEMA, because of the long-term use of generators across the island of Puerto Rico that are essential at critical facilities. Corps of Engineers representatives supervise contractors who conduct routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the generators continue to operate as designed, while the power grid is restored.
