    100th Air Refueling Wing

Members from the 100th Air Refueling Wing on RAF Mildenhall arrived in Washington D.C. for the 75th anniversary of the 100th Bombardment Group.

The 100th Bomb Group, also known as the Bloody Hundredth, flew B-17s during World War II.
The reunion brought together some original members from the group.

[Dewey Christopher, 100th Bomb Group Veteran] Well, I feel like they’re doing a great service. I’m proud of them. I’m proud of the Square D. I’m glad to see it on the tail of a KC-135.

The Bloody Hundredth’s legacy continues through the 100th ARW, who supports operations throughout Europe and Africa.

[Col. Christopher Amrhein, 100th Air Refueling Wing Commander] It’s really more than a reunion, it’s a symposium. And to be able to be part of that, to honor the legacy and also to be able to get our message out of what the current 100th is doing every single day is really the driving factor of why we’re here. We’re getting as much from this weekend as the folks that we’re here to honor.

The reunion also showcased the famous Memphis Belle B-17, side by side with the 100th ARW KC-135.

Reporting from Washington, I’m Senior Airman Kelly O’Connor.
