Philippine Marines and U.S. Reconnaissance Marines with the Maritime Raid Force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct live fire training with small arms and crew-served weapon systems during the bilateral training exercise KAMANDAG at Fort Ramon Magsaysay, Philippines, Oct. 6, 2017. Elements of the 31st MEU are supporting the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, participating in exercise KAMANDAG. Bilateral exercises such as KAMANDAG increase the ability of the United States and the Philippines to rapidly respond and work together during real world terrorist or humanitarian crises, in order to accomplish the mission, support the local population and help mitigate human suffering.
