15 Airmen from the 164 th Airlift Wing in Memphis, TN return from St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The 15 Airmen were sent down to the island to help reopen the Airport after Hurricane Irma came through and caused widespread devastation. Other goals were to redistribute supplies as they were unloaded off planes and place them in helicopters which could reach other areas of the island. 30 days ago, they were given 8 hours activation notice to pack their bags and get to the base to leave. During the trip they endured Hurricane Maria, another category 5 storm. All the Airmen returned safely at 0330 on Oct 3 rd 2017.
