On May 26, approximately 250 high school students from Wayne County visited Coleman A. Young International Airport for the third installment of "Inspiring the Next Generation."
Aircraft and members of the Tuskegee Airmen of America were on hand, along with the Michigan Air national Guard, U.S. Army, Coast Guard Air Station Detroit, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, local universities, Academy of Model Aeronautics and the "Misty Blues" all-female parachute team.
The event was aimed at exposing young people to the various careers in aviation and to educate on the heritage of the Tuskegee Airmen.
