Alaska and California Air National Guardsmen arrive in Fort Hood, Texas, via C-17
Globemaster III transport aircraft to assist with Hurricane Harvey humanitarian
disaster relief operations Aug. 29, 2017. The AKANGʼs 176th Wing deployed
Guardsmen from the 249th Airlift Squadron and 212th Rescue Squadron from Joint
Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, and picked up two HH-60 Pave Hawk
helicopters and support personnel from the CAANGʼs 129th Rescue Wing at
Moffett Federal Airfield, Calif., en route to Texas.
