Marines assigned to Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa command element and ground combat element trained in open-water survival at Naval Station Rota, Spain, July 25, 2017. The training consisted of water familiarization, rappelling into a life raft and disengaging from a downed aircraft while underwater, that was coupled with inclement weather to both disorient and familiarize the Marines with the potential hazards associated with a downed aircraft. SPMAGTF-CR-AF deployed to conduct limited crisis response and theater security operations in Europe and North Africa. (U.S. Marine Corps Video by SSgt. Kenneth K. Trotter Jr.)
