California Army National Guard warriors from 1st Battalion, 144th Field Artillery Regiment launch two 155-millimeter high explosive rounds in less than two minutes from inside an M-109A Paladin July 20 during annual training at National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California. The unit’s Gun 3 team of Staff Sgt. David Verdoorn, section chief, Sgt. Franklin Villalta, gunner and first man, and Pvt.
