Wounded Warrior athletes practice today for the field event of the DoD Warrior Games in Chicago.
The field event includes seated shot put, standing shot put, standing discus, and seated discus.
Athletes compete in different classification categories based on functional abilities including impaired muscle power, range of movement, limb deficiency, and visual impairment.
Athletes with lower function and/or impaired balance use specialized equipment.
More than 250 wounded warrior athletes are participating in this year's Warrior Games.
The games are an annual event that features sports such as archery, swimming, track and field, sitting volleyball and wheelchair basketball.
The games are scheduled to conclude July 8.
