Coast Guard Assists 4 Boaters 60 Miles West of Clearwater Beach

The Coast Guard provided assistance to four boaters Saturday, July 1, 2017 after receiving an Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon alert 60 miles west of Clearwater Beach. An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater and the crew aboard Coast Guard Cutter Tarpon, an 87-foot Coastal Patrol Boat homeported at St. Petersburg, responded to assist the four aboard a disabled 29-foot fishing boat.
