On Monday, Apr. 3, Lt. Gen. Stephen Lanza, who commanded America's I Corps for three years, relinquished command to Lt. Gen. Gary Volesky, in a ceremony presided over by Gen. Robert Abrams, commanding general of U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM). Before assuming command, Abrams promoted Volesky to lieutenant general and praised his operational prowess and over 10 years of combat experience as attributes that will help move First Corps into the future.
