Maintenance on a C-130 Hercules at the 193rd Special Operations Wing, Pennsylvania Air National Guard, isn't just avionics, electrical, or structural. Three C-130's are equipped with broadcast equipment. Deemed the EC-130J Commando Solo, here we see maintainers install the antenna pods to the wings. These pods may look like pontoons, but have broadcast antenna used to shoot electrons instead of bullets. Used during war or peacetime, the weapon system has been used all over the world from the Persian Gulf War in the "Mother of all Surrenders" to refugees fleeing in makeshift boats across the Gulf of Mexico. The wing's motto is "never seen - always heard."
