Elements of Battle Group Poland cross the border from Germany into the Czech Republic March 25, 2017 as they head to Orzysz, Poland where they will integrate with the Polish 15th Mechanized Brigade, 16th Infantry Division. The contingency of U.S., United Kingdom, Romanian and Polish Soldiers will deploy to Poland to serve as a deterrence force, as part of NATO's Enhanced Forward Presence. The unique formation is designed to demonstrate that even a limited attack on, or incursion into, NATO territory will be met by allied military forces. The 2nd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment and the other Troop Contributing Nations making up Battle Group Poland will mark their readiness by April 1.
