The Iowa Army National Guard consisting of a Black Hawk (UH-60M) helicopter crew and ground troops moved a 4,800-pound M101A1 105mm Howitzer from Algona, Iowa to Camp Dodge Joint Maneuver Training Center in Johnston, Iowa.
Units involved in the move were from Company C, 2-147th Aviation based in Boone, Iowa and Battery B, 1-194th Field Artillery providing ground troops for the move.
The howitzer will remain on display at the Iowa Goldstar Military Museum located on Camp Dodge which pays tribute to the efforts Iowa soldiers have given to the U.S. military.
