The Nebraska National Guard's annual Best Warrior Competition 2017 put nine Soldiers and seven noncommissioned officers to the test March 2-4 at Greenlief Training Site near Hastings, Nebraska. Competitors tested 18 different mental and physical skill sets. Ultimately, Spc. Hunter Smith won Soldier of the Year, and Sgt. Connor Alberts won NCO of the Year. Both Nebraska National Guard Soldiers will go on to compete in the Regional Best Warrior Competition in late May. (Nebraska National Guard video by Staff Sgt. Amy Jacobson)
