The Coast Guard Cutter Dauntless returned to Galveston, Texas, Dec. 16, 2016, after a 66-day counter-narcotics patrol in the Eastern Pacific where they interdicted four drug smuggling vessels and seized 3.4 tons of cocaine. The crew of the Galveston based cutter worked with other Coast Guard cutters and the Royal Canadian Navy to collectively interdict 26.5 tons of cocaine in the Eastern Pacific ocean, worth an estimated $715 million value at wholesale.
