Yama Sakura 7-1 is a computer-based exercise focused on virtual threats. Petty Officer Anthony Martinez shows us how some U.S. Military and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members are stepping away from the simulated situations and volunteering in the real world. The purpose of Yama Sakura is to enhance U.S. and Japan’s combat readiness and interoperability while strengthening bilateral relationships and demonstrating U.S. resolve to support the security interests of allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
