General Jay Raymond took command of Air Force Space Command from General John Hyten (HI-ten) in a ceremony at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, on October 25, 2016. Air Force Chief of Staff General David Goldfein (GOLD-feen) presided. Air Force Space Command provides military-focused space and cyberspace capabilities with a global perspective to the joint warfighting team. The command is made up of more than 38,000 civilian, military and contractor personnel at 134 locations worldwide.
