    The U.S. Army Medical Activity Japan officially opened its clinic to the community after completion of a four-year construction project. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted by Maj. Gen. James F. Pasquarette, Commander of U.S. Army Japan, Colonel William B. Johnson, Command of U.A. Army Garrison Japan, Colonel Andre R. Pippen, Commander of U.S. Army Medical Activity Japan and Maj. Jerre Hansbrough Deputy Commander, Japan Engineer District.

    Narration:
    The construction began in 2012 to meet the U.S. Army Medical Command standard in which guidelines to provide medical care are based upon the “Patient Centered Medical Home; a healthcare model whereby patient treatment is coordinated through their primary care physician to ensure they receive the necessary care when and where they need it, in a manner they can understand.
    As a result, the clinic has been renewed both inside and out, including and upgrade to some of the medical equipment.

    After the ceremony, a cake cutting was conducted and guests were invited to tour the clinic where they were introduced to the new makeover.

    For JSDF Central Hospital I believe we can continue to have a close coordination to support each other. I am most impressed with the medical record system; the electronic health record system, which is so well developed that it is available at all the medical facilities in US.
