First Army welcomed Command Sgt. Maj. Richard Johnson as the unit's new senior enlisted leader during a Change of Responsibility ceremony at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois, Oct. 21, 2016. Outgoing command sergeant major, Command Sgt. Maj. Sam Young, will soon retire after more than 30 years of Army service.
Special thanks to the Illinois National Guard's 144th Army Band for the wonderful music and the salute battery from First Army's 181st Infantry Brigade for the spectacular explosions.
