Joint personnel deployed to Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, have worked around the clock this week in support of Hurricane Matthew disaster relief efforts in Haiti. Approximately 150 Soldiers, Airmen and Marines from the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Southern Command (SPMAGTF-SC) and Joint Task Force-Bravo, deployed to provide heavy and medium helicopter airlift carrying supplies and personnel.
U.S. Southern Command has established Joint Task Force Matthew to oversee U.S. military relief efforts in Haiti and has appointed U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Cedric Pringle to command the task force.
