U.S. Marines with Task Force Koa Moana train with Peruvian Marines at a base near Ancon, Peru, Sept. 5, 2016. Marines of both nations trained and discussed fortification and military operations on urban terrain to improve tactical procedures between the two forces. Task Force Koa Moana is in Peru as part of a theater security cooperation engagement to integrate and improve interoperability with Peruvian Marines. Together with the USNS Pililaau (T-AKR 304), the Marines and sailors of the task force highlighted the strength and capabilities of the Navy-Marine Corps team.
