U.S. Marines with Koa Moana conduct a combat marksmanship program range aboard the USNS Pililaau (T-AKR 304) Aug. 26, 2016. The Marines conducted the range to prepare for joint operations with partner nations conducted abroad during the Koa Moana exercise series. The exercise seeks to enhance senior military leader engagements between allied and partner nations in the Pacific with a collective interest in military-to-military relations and to discuss key aspects of military operations, capability development and interoperability in the South Pacific.
