Another chapter in KC-46 history was written today at the Forging the 46 event. The event marked the reactivation of the 56th Air Refueling Squadron and the dedication of the KC-46 flight training center.
Lt. Gen. Darryl Roberson - "Todays event marks an important and long awaited milestone for AETC and the United States Air Force."
The KC-46 is one of the Air Force's top acquisition priorities and will enhance joint warfare operations across the globe and it all starts here with the 56th.
Lt. Col. Daniel Ruttenber - "The 56th Air Refueling Squadron's new motto "novi aut peri" is innovate or perish. A motto that perfectly describes the exciting journey ahead. A journey powered by innovation and fueled by the Airmen of the fighting 56th."
The KC-46's projected timeline for training begins in the Fall of 2016 while the first aircraft is set to arrive on the Spring of 2017.
Lt. Gen Roberson - "Airpower starts here with the Airmen of AETC and the outstanding mobility professionals of the 56th Air Refueling Squadron and the KC-46 FTU."
For the Mighty 97th, I'm Airman James Johnson.
