The Secretary of the Army, Eric Fanning visited the U.S. Army Japan as part of his Pacific Command tour to highlight the U.S. Army’s enduring presence in the Pacific Region. During his visit, he first met with the Ambassador to Japan, Caroline Kennedy and later had lunch with Soldiers and DA civilians who work for U.S. Army in Japan and listened to their concerns and questions. Fanning also toured some of the facilities on Sagami General Depot including the Logistics Readiness Center, Honshu, Army Preposition Stock Number 4 Force Provider Warehouse, as well as the Inland Petroleum Distribution System Hard Stand, and the Military Training Center on Sagami General Depot, receiving mission briefings about their capabilities.
