2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, KS conducted a combined Colors Uncasing, Change of Responsibility, and Change of Command ceremony on 15 July 2016 at Cavalry Parade Field, Fort Riley. The ceremony began with the uncasing of the Brigade colors, recognizing the Brigade's return from a deployment in support of Operation Spartan Shield. During the ceremony Colonel Miles Brown relinquished command of the "Dagger" Brigade to Colonel David Gardner, and Brigade Command Sergeant Major Larry Orvis passed on responsibility to Command Sergeant Major Craig Copridge.
