Marines with 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit conduct tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel (TRAP) training on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., May 27, 2016. TRAP missions are performed with any combination of aviation, ground, or waterborne assets to recover personnel, equipment, and/or aircraft when the tactical situation prevents search and rescue assets from responding and when survivors and their location have been confirmed. The Marines conducted this training as part of their pre-deployment training regimen in preparation for their upcoming Western Pacific 16-2 deployment.
