A Coast Guard color guard from Base Honolulu and crewmembers from U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point traveled to Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge\Battle of Midway National Memorial June 4, 2016, to observe the 74th anniversary of the Battle of Midway during a ceremony attended by the men and women who live and work on the island. The Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge\Battle of Midway National Memorial, encompassing 590,991.50 acres of land and water (mostly water) in the surrounding area, is administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
