Several F-16 Fighting Falcons from the 36th Fighter Squadron part of the US Air Force's 51st Operations Group at Osan Air Base, South Korea had the rare opportunity to integrate with host nation fighters and drop a new weapon, a GBU39 on May 21, 2015. This was the first time this weapon has been dropped from a U.S. fighter in South Korea. This opportunity built interoperability between the U.S. and ROKAF and the footage from this drop is being used to help with safety assessments of weapons separation and bomb flight profiles.
