Kansas Army National Guard Soldiers from across the state competed for the title of Best Warrior Competition in the Kansas Guard in Salina, Kansas March 17-19. The Soldiers fought the elements and completed the Army Physical Fitness Test, rifle qualification, land navigation, a ruck march and Army Warrior Tasks assigned by a cadre of sergeants major March 18. The Soldiers were then judged by a board of sergeants major March 19 on military bearing and knowledge of Army doctrine. The winners were announced March 19 at the 235th Regiment. The Kansas National Guard will host the National Guard Region 5 Best Warrior Competition at the Kansas Regional Training Center Salina May 2016.
