A joint service honor guard team assigned to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) participates in a repatriation ceremony Ha Noi, Vietnam, Dec. 12, 2015. The ceremony marked the culmination of the efforts of six recovery teams and one investigative team to recover Service members unaccounted for during the Vietnam War. During the ceremony, the honor guard team will escort the remains for transport to the DPAA Laboratory. Once there, the identification process will begin. DPAA, in its continued commitment to find and repatriate lost service members, conducts global search, recovery and laboratory operations to support the Department of Defense’s personnel accounting efforts. DPAA deploys teams from its operational office based at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii to provide the fullest possible accounting of missing personnel to their families and the nation.
