This exercise evaluates the rapid response capability of the allied forces. The 4th Multinational Brigade, known as ‘The Black Rats’, are training in a mock urban setting. The exercise takes place in small urban and rural scenario, very similar to small villages in Africa and the Middle East. The objective involves getting into the village, neutralizing and taking enemy prisoners to gain information on any possible enemy movements. A positive aspect of action of this type is the combination of conventional house-to-house warfare, the use of modern technology and the enhanced specialization and professionalism of the modern-day Soldiers who make the Atlantic Alliance such a solid force. For Trident Juncture 2015, the multinational deployment in Albacete involves some 3,500 troops. UK troops account for 1,000 soldiers, with Denmark providing 900, Italy 865, Norway 12, USA 300 and Spain 560.
