The Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War with a Memorial Tree Dedication at Arlington National Cemetery on August 28th, 2015. The tree is dedicated to 5,000 Vietnam helicopter pilots and crew members, from all branches of service, who gave the last full measure of devotion to our nation. More than 11,827 helicopters deployed and a total of 5,086 were destroyed from Dec. 1961 to May 1975. In this video, Bob Hesselbein, VHPA President, talks about the service and sacrifice of those who served during the Vietnam War.
