Six Marines and two Nepalese soldiers lost their lives conducting casualty evacuations when the aircraft went missing in Nepal. The U.S. troops are part of Joint Task Force 505 in Nepal, which works in conjunction with the United States Agency for International Development and the international community to provide unique capabilities to assist Nepal.
