Marine Medium Helicopter Training Squadron (HMMT) 164 transitioned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 164 during a redesignation ceremony aboard Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendlton, Calif., April. 9. HMMT-164 was the last squadron in the Marine Corps to fly the CH-46 Sea Knight, also referred to by Marines as a Phrog, and became the newest MV-22B Osprey squadron. Lt. Col. Gabriel Valdez relinquished command to Lt. Col. Eric Aschenbrenner during this ceremony.
