People from around the world flocked to the Louisville waterfront for an all-day airshow and one of the largest fireworks shows in the nation. Thunder Over Louisville marks the beginning of the two-week Kentucky Derby Festival and one National Guardsman was asked to help initiate the festivities in front of a crowd of nearly half a million.
