In Estonia, dozens of American heavy vehicles and troops have begun a one thousand one hundred-mile journey back to their home in Germany. The convoy, referred to as the ’Dragoon Ride’, is made up of personnel from 3rd Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment. They’ve been supporting the training mission Operation Atlantic Resolve. Now they’ve handed over to soldiers from the 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry. US helicopters from Army Europe's 12th Combat Aviation Brigade is providing aerial reconnaissance and support during the movement. From Estonia, the ride will take ten days and see the convoy travelling through the Baltic States, Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany. It will allow all units involved an opportunity to test their unit maintenance and leadership capabilities while simultaneously providing a highly-visible demonstration of U.S commitment to its NATO Allies and demonstrating NATO's ability to move military forces freely across Allied borders in close cooperation.
