Paratroopers with U.S. Army Alaska's 1st Battalion (Airborne), 501st Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division jumping from a Japanese CH-47 Chinook. The paratroopers from 1-501 (ABN) jumped with the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force’s 3rd Battalion, 1st Airborne Brigade, Central Readiness Force as part of North Wind 2015. The two-week, bilateral field training and command-post exercise promotes an increase in combat readiness and interoperability amongst U.S. Army personnel and the JGSDF to respond to a wide range of crisis contingencies in the Asian-Pacific region.
